SOCIAL WORK

TUITION & NUTRITION PROGRAMME

Tuition and Nutrition programme is funded by Korima Claretianas, Spain. There are around 50 children every year are benefitted, including their families. They are assisted with their studies, every day additional nutritious food, and social and life skill activities.
The sponsorship programme is funded by some individuals from Italy and USA, there are around 25 year children who are benefited out of this programme. It provides them economical help for their education, education materials and birthday and Christmas gift and other emergency needs.
This year we concluded the academic year with staff meeting, parents meeting and one day picnic for the children. The children enjoyed site seeing and played in water.
This year we have reviewed the tuition programme in the community and as well with our collaborators and noted some important points: the sisters presence was felt and children improved in following guidelines and discipline and as well there was improvement in their curricular performance. The students passed out with good marks in their higher and higher secondary schools. For the better functioning and effective help to the children we would need another external tuition teacher, and as well in selection of the students for our tuition we must follow our criteria.
We also evaluated the need for the supplementary food that is provided to the children every day. Most of the families are able to meet their basic meal except very few families, what they need most is educational help for their children. So instead of food we could provide them with the study materials and one more tuition teacher.
Some of our sponsor children are studying in the private schools, and the expenses are every year rising up. The children and their families are in regular contact. Education paves better future for them, families and for the society. We are happy to be part of this creative educative mission for construction of our society.
