we celebrated today with many people of india PONGAL the harvest festival. we gave thanks to God in the Eucharist, and shared a plentiful fraternal meal with the products of the earth. this is also called in some other parts of India as Sankrathi. we cook the newly harvested rice and allow it to overflow as a sign of plentiful and abundance. this sweetened rice is brought to the Euchatist, blessed and shared by all after the Mass.
